John Hudson - this is the photo of the wood carver in Alison Uttley's book "Buckinghamshire". John Hudson was the Chief Woodcarver who trained the young ex-sailor referred to in the book (see the 'history' tab). He worked for Nicholls and Janes after the First world war until he retired in 1960 along with several of his brothers including Frank Hudson who was the father of Frank Hudson (who started the well known Wycombe Funiture Manufacturer still in business).
